Kazbegi is the northern region of Georgia, located in the middle of the Great Caucasus Mountains. Because of its beautiful landscapes end scenery, it is one of the major destinations for visitors of Georgia. Kazbegi, besides the region, is the name of the most notable mount, which lies immediately to the west of central town Stephantsminda. With height of 5047 meters, Mount Kazbegi ranks third between highest peaks of Georgia.
On the way to Kazbegi, our first stop is Ananuri fortress. Located in Aragvi Gorge, Ananuri served as center and residence of local feudal lords through the centuries.
Next is Gudauri – located close to Tbilisi (120 km), it is the most popular ski resort of Georgia. Green slopes and hills in Summer, get all covered with snow during the Winter and host ski enthusiasts from all over the world.
After crossing the Jvari pass (2379 meters from sea level) we lower to Kazbegi region. Here, our main objective is Gergeti Trinity Church. Built in XIV century, on the top of the hill, church is a must-see for every visitor of the country. Charged with emotions and exaltation, we ride back to capital, end of Kazbegi tour.
